What are dental implants:
Dental implants are screw like structure, which is placed in our jaw bone to give a new teeth on it.usually these dental implants are made of a metal called titanium. which is bio compatible in nature
( it means these titanium implants won't harm us if it is placed inside our jaw bone)
this won't get rusted or give trouble in any manor.
How dental implants are done:
It is a very simple procedure. a well experienced dental implantologist can place an implant within 10 mins- First your dentist will give a mild dose of injection to numb the area.
- Then he/she will prepare the bone to receive the implant with small drills
- Now the implant will be fixed into the prepared site.
- The crown can be fixed with in 2 days.
- It is as simple as said. (simpler than removing a tooth)
Am I a candidate for implants:
The advanced single piece implant system can be done to almost every one.It can be done for:
- Diabetic patients
- Smoking patients
- Elderly people (we have done implants for 84yrs old lady)
- Cardiac patients
- Resorbed bone level
The few exceptions are:
- Severe bleeding disorders
- Severe medically compromised
- Children below 10yrs
- Altered mental status
